Karumba to Burketown

Tuesday the 9th September we travelled the Savannah Way from Karumba to Burketown a distance of 300klms there was corrugated road for part of the trip and rough in parts but as long as you took it slow it was all good. There were several creek and river crossings along the way  that were very beautiful Leichhardt falls were not flowing but still great to see, its very hot through the days at around 30 to 35 degrees. We stayed at the Burketown caravan park which has  shady spots and is dog friendly There is an Artesian Bore and lots of fishing spots the river has tents and caravans parked all along its banks. Burketown is the Barramundi Capital of Australia or so their signs say!
