Southern Tasmania

Elly and I took a drive down to Cockle Bay its the most southerly point able to be reached by road in Australia at the end is a gorgeous bay and there is a whale sculpture. There are lots of spots to camp as well right by the water. There are many walks around the area too that take you to the South East Cape.  The town of Southport has Australia’s Sothern most pub there is also accomodation here as well. Ida Bay has a scenic train ride through the bush and along the beach front on a heritage listed bush railway. The Far South has caves, thermal springs, brilliant white beaches, rainforests and amazing scenery. Along the way are lots of fruit trees and we stopped at a roadside stall and bought cherries fresh from the tree absolutely yummy.
