Broome

Broome is located on the Indian Ocean its know for its Pearls and Cable Beach where you can watch the Staircase to the Moon or ride a camel. The beaches are fantastic with their beautiful blue clear water and soft white sand and at the Gantheaume point end you can drive onto the beach and its dog friendly this is a great place to watch the sunset from. You can also drive around the point this is a red dirt road and there are some very scenic points at Reddell Point with the red rock into the blue ocean is stunning.

Sun Pictures was built in 1916 it is a garden with deck chairs with both open air or undercover seating you can sit here and watch some of the latest release movies.

Matso’s Brewery has some unique and delicious beer I really liked the Desert Lime with Wild Ginger Beer  a great way to try their beers is get a tasting paddle very nice but the chilli beer for me was a little hot even though it was cold! There is a lovely outside area with views to the water and some days there is live entertainment. You can do a Brewery Tour and learn more about the process.

In Chinatown there are many shops and Pearl Shops really great place to walk through and browse. Johnny Chi Lane has some unique shops and is really pretty as you walk through the lane there are history boards on the wall that tell you all about the history of Broome.

I took a drive out to Willie Creek Pearls you can do a tour here and find out from start to finish about Pearls and they have a jewellery showroom or take a helicopter ride there is also a cafe.

We stayed at the Tarangua Caravan Park it is dog friendly but your dog must be on a leash at all times and you must take it with you when you go out. They do not accept dogs in the peak period.

There are many tours you can do from this base and Cape Leveque is apparently quite stunning we flew over this area and the Buccaneer Archipelago when I went out to The Horizontal Falls but thats another story!
